Your business is unique and you have a specific target market. Play to your strengths and develop content that satisfies YOUR Client Avatars. Once you nail this concept the rest becomes far easier – you’ll have your road map prepared. now to the actual nuts and bolts of what you’ll deliver. So, start with this – how do your clients consume content? Visually via video, reading blogs and articles, enjoying and sharing funny memes? Being uplifted and inspired with gorgeous images? Got something in mind? Ok, let’s expand on that….
Why Content Creation?
At the same time, you would have to be absolutely crazy not to take advantage of content creation to really supercharge your marketing and your advertising. But rather than take the “Field of Dreams” approach to content creation – if you build it, they will come – you have to work really strategically to come up with types of content that your market is starving for, types of content that is incredibly valuable to your customer.
Here’s a couple of tips and tricks to help you do exactly that!
Be a Sponge
Become a sponge for killer pieces of content
The most important thing you can do to improve the quality of your content – right now, right out of the gate – is to spend a lot of time researching your industry, your market, and their interests by looking for killer pieces of content that other people are creating.
You’re looking for new, unique, and in-depth information that really resonates with you and your marketplace. You’ll want to get a feel for what the “bones” of these types of content look like so that you can later on create your own.
Use your Client Avatar(s)
Only create content valuable to your customer
A lot of otherwise experienced marketers and content creators out there making the major mistake of creating pieces of content that are interesting and exciting to, or pieces of content designed to increase specific business operations rather than producing content that is valuable to your customer.
Don’t make the same mistake.
The only content you should ever think about creating is content that is going to make your ideal customer stand up and notice. Stop whatever else they were doing and consume your content, and then share that information with someone else that has the potential to become a customer as well.
Share Content Strategically
The message that you build into all of your content is absolutely going to do the majority of the “heavy lifting” for you, but the market match and vehicle that you use to get your message out is going to be almost as important.
Make sure that you strategically share your content on the best social platforms to choose from, that you partner with other businesses to reach their audiences while piggybacking off of their influence, and that you strategically “drip” content to keep your ideal customers coming back for more from now on.
